Wanted to know information about mortgage Etc, offered prize (Unsolicited call) reported by Morri
Seemed to want information about my mortgage (don’t have one) and said I could win a prize, after a bit he said I wasn’t eligible, was friendly but didn’t answer quickly or clearly when I asked what the purpose of the call was. Don’t answer from this number

mortgage reduction scheme (Financial services) reported by Nick
Very persistent, I'd blocked their number some time ago, but they kept trying to get through. I had some time on my hands today so I called them back and wasted their time. The operator was well spoken and polite, he had an English accent and was offering to help me to become mortgage free. On hearing that I'd achieved that status decades ago he switched to offering me access to their fund to help me build up my savings, but was unable to tell me what the best achieved rate [after tax] had been for any of their "victims". I've requested that he have my details expunged and that they don't call back. We'll see.....

NZ Assist (www.staircase.co.nz) (Financial services) reported by Zach
Telemarketing, unsolicited call. Immediately began asking whether I owned or rented my home. When asked where they got my number, I couldn't quite make out their answer. Something about marketing agency and banks. Advised I was not interested - she directed me to check out www.staircase.co.nz, and offered to call me back. Asked them not to call - my number is on the marketing "Do not call" list, so obviously do not abide by this.

NZ Assist (Financial services) reported by Peter
Telemarketing call - also had my info and not sure how... When I said that it would be a hard 'no' he seemed surprised that I'd not be interested in saving money... Very good telemarketers I have to say because he tried to build rapport very quickly. Just say no and leave the call.

NZ Assist (Financial services) reported by Rebecca
Called and waffled for bloody ages asking all about how I was etc etc. very pleasant lady but knew she must have wanted something. Then said she was from NZ assist and they could help reduce my mortgage. I said I wasn’t interested, still wanted to ask questions to see if I was eligible for $1000 prize. Said she’d call back if I was eligible. Have blocked the number.

NZ Assist (Financial services) reported by Jimmy
The number came up on my phone as NZ Assist, but they did not identify themselves initially as NZ Assist. Instead started asking me the sort of questions my best mate would be asking, about what I got up to today etc. I told him I didnt know who I was speaking to , or why he would want to know these things about me, so I wasnt going to answer until I knew what was going on. He then told me he was a Telemarketer but hadnt called to sell me anything. So I asked what he got out of ringing me - gets to talk to interesting new people etc etc. I asked if he was hungry? He didnt understand, so I pointed out that if he was just ringing people to chat about their day, he likely had no money for food. He then said he was calling on behalf of financial services company to talk about retirement plans. So I pointed out that it was in fact a sales call, and he conceded it was. But just wanted to inform me about the plans available. I told him since his call started with a whole lot of untruth, there was no trust and I would prefer to talk to someone I trusted and hung up. I guess I dont mind someone calling to sell me something - I object to all the waffle that goes on while they try to pretend they are doing something different.
