AUSTRALIAN ACCENT** "Hi how are you today? I wont take much of your time, I'm from Vodafone calling you, we dont usually call our pre pay customers" Then I hung up the phone. His voice sounds tooo I dont know, dodgy. He really sounded like those outback Australian guys. And when he said "we dont call our pre pay customers" I felt like it was a scam because Vodafone always calls me just before my plan is due to be renewed to offer me better prepay deals and the number always shows up as "Vodafone" but this one didnt.

I was one of the callers a while back. There are 500.000 NZ prepay customers in NZ and Vodafone contract 1 or 2 other call companies to cover that market for them so they can focus their staff on core issues like technical aspects or customer complaints billing etc. The calls are done on an automatic system so they ring for 3 times then go onto the next number which can be frustrating when you pick up the phone and there is no one there. The calls are recorded, you must be over 18 because the law states they cannot provide products or services to people UNDER 18 and we tried to get you a better value for your phone. There are people paying $20 per week for 1.25GB of data and for $30 less we were offering 12GB data per month....double your data for $30 less. So thats where we can benefit people. 70% of our customers pay $20 or less a month but it does not last them and they need to top up before the 28 cycle is up, so we offered them a plan exclusive to us callers (that is not on the web, app or in store) of 4GB data unl calls and text for then $25/mth...a lot better value. There is no joining fee, no upfront payment, no credit card or bank details reqd because we send your bill via e mail each month and you pay it on your app. They do require a drivers license to do a credit check and an age verification because you are signing up to a month by month contract. You could leave any time by giving 30 days notice. Under law we had to send you a confirmation e mail of what you signed up to, which you receive before the end of the call and the law states you get 5 business days as a cooling off period should you change your mind. hope this helps.

No offence Mate New Zealand is in the COVID level 2 crisis Vodafone New Zealand is smart enough not to go forcing people into plains when people are not making enough money to pay for their rent. Also, Vodafone NZ does not need home details to convert prepaid service plan to a monthly plan. they already have those details when they gave us the free $10 top-up.

Had a guy come to my doorstep offering a meeting with a insurance broker , so in end he got me to **** my number down and name . I am now constantly getting calls from this number even tho I told the guy I wasn't interested from the start. Definitely a scammer looking for people to sign insurance claims.

A woman answered, no name, she sounded like a kiwi. Said she was from Vodafone and I was eligible for a deal or something. Then asked me who I was and if I was over 18? She asked me how much I paid for my plan. I gave some vague details. She offered me a plan with 4GB data, unlimited calls and texts and some other stuff. I said I would have no use for that and she quickly said goodbye and hung up. Very dodgy. Don't give these people any personal information.

She said she is from Vodafone, and persuaded me to change the new plan which seemed cheaper than the plan I have used. I asked her this plan should be appeared in the website, but she told me it is special for the valued customer. I think it is unreasonable that new plan did not exist on Vodafone website. So I answered I did not need the new plan.
