The 0800 800 021 Is not a scam phone number as it is provided on the official site. And if they email you, you can run a whois on their email domain that they msg'd you with, and it is official. The @vodafone.co.nz and @vodafone.com email domains are from official vodafone employee's. The reason why it may seem like a scam is that when asking for a monthly plan for vodafone even on the site, they do require a form of ID. BUT Sending any personal information through email is very dangerous, just go on talk with the Vodafone employee's in person.

When I answered the call it took a long time to connect. They seemed very distant on the phone told me that they are from Vodafone. And if I would like to update my plan. (Which I have done a month ago so wasn’t required) I thought it was sketchy so I told them I don’t have time to discuss anything at the moment I am busy. I then thanked them and said goodbye. I find it strange as Vodafone would have known I do not need to update my plan as it’s already been done.

I was not sure if it was a scam or not. They spoke very clearly. I tried to test and see if it was a bot by delaying my response to one of their questions but they did respond when I did. They also responded with a delay which leads me to believe that they are using phone over internet. They offered me my same plan but with unlimited texts, calls and data and pay the same amount which led me to suspicion. I just said I'm happy with my current plan
